Filmmaker J.J. Abrams is reportedly closing in on a place to set up the half billion dollar deal for this production company Bad Robot that was first reported on last year.
WarnerMedia is said to be emerging as the frontrunner to land the “Alias” creator and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” director, though Apple is also said to be in strong contention.
Several major players were courting Abrams for said deal which will encompass films, television, digital content, music, games, consumer products, and theme-park opportunities. Disney, Universal and Netflix were also in the mix.
A decision is expected to be announced early this summer. Should WarnerMedia land him they can offer a variety of platforms for his work from theatrical releases to their upcoming streaming service.
