One of the questions left lingering by the events of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” was that of Finn (John Boyega). The character was left injured during the lightsaber battle with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and seen taken away by paramedics. Now, Making Star Wars have posted new details about Finn’s recovery which will be seen in the early parts of the Rian Johnson-directed next chapter in the saga.
POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD
After a friendly goodbye kiss from Rey in the last film, Finn is placed in a ‘bacta suit’ and there will be a sequence in which he is cut or removed from the suit and reportedly emerges “in better condition than ever before”.
After that, he goes on a journey that will make him “a big deal” within the ranks of the Resistance. Boyega himself has previously teased the new film is “much darker” and he has a more physical role this time.
The new film isn’t expected to open until late next year. Before then we have “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” this December. That film is reportedly set to unleash a new trailer later this week according to the site.
In related news, a trailer has been released for the ‘Knights of the Eternal Throne’ expansion pack for the MMORPG game title “Star Wars: The Old Republic”. The six-minute nearly dialogue-free piece is more a short film than a trailer and is superbly done.
