The upcoming “Doctor Who” BBC Centenary Special, which serves as Jodie Whittaker’s final adventure as the Thirteenth Doctor, is set to boast the return of at least two former companions.
As we know, Janet Fielding will reprise the role of Tegan Jovanka who was a companion to the Fifth Doctor (Peter Davison), whilst Sophie Aldred is back as Ace who was a companion to the Seventh Doctor (Sylvester McCoy).
It has now been revealed that the episode, titled “The Power of the Doctor,” may feature some more familiar faces. The BBC (via TVZone) has released an official interview with Fielding who says Tegan and Ace wind up working together as they are part of a network of The Doctor’s former companions:
“The former companions who are on Earth have managed to get in contact with each other, and she and Ace know that something is happening and that the activity is likely to be alien. And they are investigating.”
The comment has added fuel to the fire of rumors in recent months that other Doctor Who companions could return for cameos in the special be it from either the classic era or since the reboot.
“Doctor Who: The Power of the Doctor” is set to air Sunday, October 23rd on The BBC.
