Charlie Sheen and his father Martin Sheen are once again playing father and son, the pair set to top-line the AMC half-hour family comedy series “Happy Jack”.
A six-episode order has been greenlit at Warner Bros. Studios in the same studio where “Friends” was filmed.
Jim Patterson and Matt Ross, who worked together on the likes of “Two and a Half Men” and “The Ranch,” will write, executive produce and serve as showrunners.
Charlie Sheen plays Jack, a lifelong loafer. He’s got two great daughters, although his Dad (Martin Sheen) deserves more credit for how they turned out.
Kate runs Jack’s company and keeps him on the rails while Sam is a wild child who is more like her Dad.
When Sam comes home to introduce everyone to her new boyfriend, Jack’s shocked to learn Paul, a former investment banker turned van life guru, is the same age as he is.
Shocked at first, Jack soon realises he’s got a choice to make. Will he keep looking out for number one, or embrace this last chance to be a real part of his daughters’ lives?
The Sheens have previously played on screen father and son in a number of movies and shows from “Wall Street” to FX’s “Anger Management,” and been on screen together multiple times – including an iconic “Hot Shots Part Deux” gag.
AMC has only rarely dipped into comedy with shows like “Kevin Can F–k Himself” and “Lucky Hank”.
