Dracula
A short preview is out of Audible’s high-profile audiobook take on Bram Stoker’s “Dracula,” which is being directed by filmmaker Mary Lambert (“Pet Sematary,” “The In Crowd”) and hits the service on October 1st.
The voice cast includes Jonathan Bailey as Dracula, Ella Purnell as Mina, Maggie Gyllenhaal as Professor Van Helsing, Louis Partridge as Jonathan Harker, Aimee Lou Wood as Lucy, David Jonsson as Dr. Seward, Johnny Flynn as Renfield and Lesley Manville as Lucy’s mother.
Toy Story 5
Disney and Pixar’s $1.1 billion-grossing “Toy Story 5” reportedly pulled in 20 million global views in its first five days of streaming on the Disney+ service. The film premiered on the streamer on September 23rd.
That ranks among the top 10 theatrical film premieres on Disney+ worldwide to date but is behind “Inside out 2” at 30.5 million over its first five days, or “Zootopia 2” at 32 million over its first seven days. [Source: Deadline]
Cassandra at the Wedding
Florence Pugh (“Thunderbolts,” “Oppenheimer”) is set to co-produce and play identical twin sisters in India Donaldson’s “Cassandra at the Wedding,” a long-gestating adaptation of Dorothy Baker’s 1962 novel.
The story follows an intelligent but deeply unhappy Berkeley graduate student who returns to her family’s ranch in the Sierra foothills for the wedding of her identical twin sister. The One About Matthew Perry
Netflix has premiered the trailer for “The One About Matthew Perry,” a new three-part documentary about the “Friends” star, releasing on the service on October 27th.
Told through intimate testimonies from close family and friends, the doco looks at his struggles dealing with addiction, relapse, recovery, and the increasingly public disconnect between his public and private personas.
