Three-time Grammy winner Gloria Estefan has joined the “Father of the Bride” reboot in the works at Warner Bros. Pictures and Plan B Entertainment.
Andy Garcia leads the cast as the titular patriarch, with Estefan to play his wife and the bride’s mother in this story centering around a Cuban-American family. Puerto Rican actress Adria Arjona (“Pacific Rim: Uprising”) plays the bride in question.
Estefan doesn’t often act which makes her casting worth noting. Gaz Alazraki will direct from a script by Matt Lopez, and Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner will produce.
Estefan previously worked with Garcia on the telemovie “For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story”.
