Xbox Secures GTA VI Streaming Rights

Rockstar Games

Microsoft has reportedly secured exclusive game streaming rights for “Grand Theft Auto VI” via Xbox Cloud Gaming at launch.

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma previously teased the company was set to do something “no other platform holder is doing”. Now we know what that is.

The deal lets PC and mobile users jump into the game without the need of having to buy an Xbox Series X/S or a PlayStation 5 console. That said, they will need a good streaming connection and good local servers for it to be a decent experience.

Under the deal, only Xbox Cloud Gaming can stream “Grand Theft Auto VI” to players at launch – but it’s not clear how long that agreement will be in place.

Rockstar Games still has yet to announce a PC version of the game and one isn’t expected for some time. Their previous game, “Red Dead Redemption II,” took 13 months to make the jump from console to PC.

This also explains November updates to the Xbox Cloud Gaming service which included a 15 hour limit for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers and new a pay-as-you-go option.
