Warner Bros. Pictures is set to begin shooting the third “Fantastic Beasts” film around Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in Spring next year. Pre-production is currently underway and the film is targeting a November 12th 2021 release.
The confirmation of the new start date marks the third production delay after it was originally planned to begin shooting in July before being pushed to late this autumn. In addition, longtime “Harry Potter” film series scribe Steve Kloves has come onboard as co-writer.
The film’s co-star Dan Fogler the other week indicated that author and screenwriter J.K. Rowling has been “writing furiously” and that he has yet to receive a script. It is said though that Jessica Williams’ Professor Eulalie ‘Lally’ Hicks character will play a key part.
Meanwhile actor Willem Dafoe, out doing press for “The Lighthouse,” has confirmed that Guillermo del Toro’s new directorial effort, “Nightmare Alley,” will begin shooting in March.
Dafoe stars in the noir film alongside Bradley Cooper, Toni Collette, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, David Strathairn, Ron Perlman, Richard Jenkins, and Willem Dafoe. It is targeting a 2021 release.
