“The Fantastic Four” and “The Bear” star Ebon Moss-Bachrach is in final talks to play Kelso in Michael Mann’s upcoming “Heat 2” at Amazon MGM Studios reports The Wrap.
Moss-Bachrach will take on a younger version of the role played by the late Tom Noonan in Mann’s 1995 film.
In the original film, Kelso was a wheelchair-bound computer hacker and former DARPA researcher who provides crucial surveillance and alarm system intelligence. He gives Robert De Niro’s Neil McCauley a blueprint for a high-stakes bank heist.
Guy Pearce was reportedly considered for the role before Mann and the team decided to go with Moss-Bachrach. The movie serves as both a prequel and sequel to the 1995 film.
Moss-Bachrach joins an already all-star cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio as thief Chris Shiherlis; Christian Bale as Vincent Hanna, Stephen Graham as Neil McCauley, Odessa Young as Charlene and María Cid as Gabi.
Despite reports saying otherwise, “Obsession” breakout Inde Navarrette is reportedly not in the mix. Jerry Bruckheimer, Scott Stuber and Nick Nesbitt are producing and filming is set to begin in November.
