Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios have premiered the final trailer for the “Clayface” film based on the villain character from the Batman comics.
A standalone body-horror thriller penned by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, the film is partly inspired by the 1990s “Batman: The Animated Series” two-part episode ‘Feat of Clay’.
Set within the DC Universe, Tom Rhys Harries stars in the film as Matt Hagen/Clayface with Naomi Ackie, Max Minghella, David Dencik and Eddie Marsan in supporting roles.
The story follows an actor named Matt Hagen who was disfigured in a car crash. He’s offered a supply of experimental face cream, allowing him to transform his face for short periods into whatever appearance he wants.
He ultimately mutates into a walking creature of clay who can shapeshift into anyone at will, and he sets out for revenge.
James Watkins directs the film, which cost around $40 million to produce. “Clayface” is slated to open in cinemas on October 23rd.
