“Barry” producer Rightor Doyle’s seven-episode short-form dark comedy series “Bonding” has been picked up by Netflix as a global original series. The story centers on the relationship between former high-school BFFs, Pete (Brendan Scannell), a recently out gay man, and Tiff (Zoe Levin), a grad student and secretly one of New York City’s top dominatrixes, who reconnect in an unexpected way years later. The Black Tapes
NBC has begun development of a supernatural drama based on “The Black Tapes” podcast from “Emerald City” co-creator Matthew Arnold, podcast creators Paul Bae and Terry Miles, and both Entertainment 360 and Universal TV.

The story follows a journalist’s investigations into the unexplained supernatural mysteries caught on tape by a skeptical scientist. Each week the two of them embark on a journey exploring the literal and figurative ghosts that haunt them both. [Source: TV Line]

The Velveteen Rabbit
Tom Bidwell, who penned the new “Watership Down” adaptation, is teaming with the producers of “The Gruffalo” for an adaptation of the classic children’s tale “The Velveteen Rabbit” for Magic Light Pictures. Margery Williams’ classic 1922 story follows a boy and his beloved toy rabbit and this take will be a hybrid style of live-action and animation. [Source: Variety]

ABC is reportedly negotiating with the cast of the “Roseanne” spin-off series “The Conners” for a thirteen episode second season, up from the eleven episodes in its current first season. John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and Lecy Goranson co-star in the series. [Source: Deadline]
