Statham, Ritchie Team For “Dogfight”

Lionsgate

Filmmaker Guy Ritchie and actor Jason Statham are set to re-team yet again, this time for the stylish revenge actioner “Dogfight” at Netflix.

Set in the London criminal underworld, filming is slated to begin in the UK in early 2027. Ritchie will write, direct and produce, while Statham will star but plot specifics are under wraps.

Black Bear Pictures, Ritchie’s Toff Guy Films and Statham’s Punch Palace Productions will all produce the project with the pair along with Ivan Atkinson and John Friedberg producing.

Ritchie gave Statham his first film role in 1998’s “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” with their onscreen collaborations continued with “Snatch,” “Revolver,” “Wrath of Man” and “Operation Fortune: Rose de Guerre.”

“Dogfight” will mark the seventh collaboration. The sixth, action-thriller “Viva La Madness,” wrapped earlier this year. Black Bear is distributing in North America and Amazon MGM Studios has international territory rights.

Ritchie’s most recent film was “In the Grey” while he has “Wife & Dog” in post-production with that slated for a February 19th cinema release.
