In its third week, Nathan Fielder’s doco “You Can See Everything” at A24 is duelling with last week’s champ “Clayface” from DC Studios for the top spot at the box-office.
Right now both titles are looking to earn just above $10 million each this weekend domestically, but it’s looking like we won’t know until Monday which will end up on top even as ‘Everything’ seems to have smallest advantage. It looks to fall 43% from last weekend compared to 57% for “Clayface”.
‘Everything’ hasn’t opened overseas yet aside from Turkey, but “Clayface” has gone international with a further $12.4 million this weekend and a worldwide total of $83 million so far.
LAIKA’s acclaimed “Wildwood” looks to be in third with $7.5 million domestically, a fall of 39% from its disappointing debut last weekend, and a further $12.3 million overseas. To date it has made $25.8 million domestically and $35.8 million worldwide.
British fantasy comedy “Wicker” is in fourth with $4.1 million, dropping just 30% from last week as it took in good reviews. The title currently sits at a total of $13.2 million. “Street Fighter” rounds out the top five with $3.2 million.
Concert film “BTS: World Tour AiriRang” was in sixth with $2.8 million while “Resident Evil” has its last weekend prior to its PVOD release – pulling in a further $2.5 million domestically and passing the $400 million worldwide mark this weekend – pushing it ahead of “Sinners,” “Backrooms” and “The Nun”.
One of the few new releases this week was comedy “Christmas at the Kringles” which looks to make just $675,000 for the weekend. Combined with a rare 0% score on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s a disastrous start for the feature.
