Tickets are now on sale for the “V for Vendetta” 20th Anniversary re-release, the title returning to U.S. cinemas nationwide Sunday November 1st & Thursday November 5th.
Fathom Entertainment, Saga Arts and Warner Bros. Pictures are handling the re-release and have unveiled a new trailer for the film, which you can see below.
The return to screens of the James McTeigue-directed and Wachowskis-produced film adaptation of Alan Moore’s comic was announced a year ago and comes smack dab right at the U.S. mid-term elections take place on November 3rd.
The story is set in Britain in a dystopian, not-too-distant future in which the country is controlled by the fascist Norsefire party.
An anarchist named V, known for his distinctive Guy Fawkes mask, seeks to topple the government with the help of Evey Hammond, a young woman V rescued from the country’s secret police.
Hugo Weaving, Natalie Portman, John Hurt and Stephen Rea starred in the film which grossed $132 million worldwide and has become a major cult hit in the years since.
The 20th anniversary theatrical event will also feature ‘Freedom Forever’ an exclusive featurette with director James McTeigue reflecting on the films and art that shaped the movie and why it continues to resonate today.
