Any studio will tell you, first look reveals are rough. For Paramount, they had it tough this week when the first poster for the live-action/CGI hybrid film “Sonic the Hedgehog” arrived to an… interesting response.
Now, according to some apparently leaked documents, Paramount was originally aiming to nab some major stars for the project – specifically for the roles of the human cop Tom and the voice of Sonic himself, roles that respectively went to James Marsden and Ben Schwartz.
According to the list, the likes of Chris Pratt, Bill Hader and Paul Rudd were sought for either of the roles while Chris Evans, Jake Johnson, Michael B. Jordan, Bill Hader and Justin Timberlake were up for the Tom while Tom Holland, Josh Gad, Andy Samberg, Will Forte and Charlie Day were up for voicing Sonic.
The leak also included a poster mock-up that was done featuring a CGI Sonic and Pratt as the Tom character. The design is said to be only preliminary, and judging by the poster art released the other week it has undergone some big changes. “Sonic the Hedgehog” opens November 8th 2019.
Rumour: Check out this internal poster of the #SonicMovie that was allegedly made roughly a year ago. A sheet detailing possible candidates for the roles of Sonic and Officer Tom, assumedly prior to the signing of Marsden and Schwartz, was also seen here.
