Fellowes Offers Downton Abbey Sequel Update

“Downton Abbey” creator Julian Fellowes will start working on a sequel to last year’s feature film based on the ITV and PBS period drama.

Fellowes, speaking after his Winter TCA press tour session to promote Epix’s “Belgravia,” said that he is currently in pre-production on the long-gestating drama series “The Gilded Age” for HBO and expects to shoot that later this year.

He says once he’s finished scripting “The Gilded Age,” then he’ll get to work on the “Downton Abbey” sequel.

Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, Amanda Peet and Morgan Spector co-star in the ten-part “The Gilded Age” about the millionaire titans of New York City in the 1880s.
