Disney To Hit A Week Earlier In Europe

The Walt Disney Company has set a new March 24th launch date for Disney+ in the U.K. and other key markets across Western Europe, a week earlier than originally planned.

The U.K., Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria and Switzerland will all get the service on that date with pricing confirmed at £5.99/€6.99 ($8) per month, or £59.99/€69.99 ($78) for an annual subscription.

Other Western Europe markets, including Belgium, the Nordic countries, and Portugal, will follow in summer 2020.

Disney is aiming to have 60-90 million subscribers worldwide by 2024 and will spend a little over $1 billion on original content for its fiscal year 2020, increasing to the $2.5 billion range by 2024.
