Ang Lee’s “Life of Pi” To Shoot In August?

A decision should be made this month as to whether we’ll see a film adaptation of Yann Martel’s bestseller “The Life of Pi” at 20th Century Fox reports Indiewire.

Having been in development for much of the past decade with several different filmmakers, Ang Lee (“Brokeback Mountain”) remains attached to direct the $70+ million production which hopes to kick off filming in August.

The story of boy adrift in a lifeboat in the Pacific with a Bengal tiger will be a “3D magical fantasy adventure” that will include a lot of CG animals as “You can’t put a live tiger in a boat with a child” says Fox 2000’s Elizabeth Gabler.

David Magee (“Finding Neverland”) has delivered the screenplay while Lee and producer Gil Netter have been location scouting around Thailand and Pondicherry, Southern India for the film.
