As the third season of “Wednesday” recently wrapped, filmmaker Tim Burton is looking at what’s next for film.
Deadline reports that he will team with Nobel Prize-winning author Kazuo Ishiguro on a new untitled film still in development. Burton will direct the film from an Ishiguro script.
Set in post-World War II Japan, the project is said to be an original story not based on a previous or upcoming novel, with no distributor or other talent attached at this time.
It’s unclear whether this will be Burton’s next film, as it’s still in development, but it is said to be the one that has drawn the most attention from him in recent weeks.
Ishiguro penned the acclaimed novels “Never Let Me Go” and “Klara and the Sun”, both of which have been adapted for the screen; the latter, by filmmaker Taika Waititi, premiered tonight at the BFI London Film Festival.
Jenna Ortega, star of “Wednesday,” stars in “Klara and the Sun”, which has drawn poor reviews over the past few hours.
