Filmmaker Edgar Wright’s music-themed crime/action thriller “Baby Driver” has scored a new and quite pink motion poster courtesy of Sony Pictures.
Ansel Elgort plays a getaway driver named ‘Baby’ who’s desperate to get out of his crime-filled life. Following a tragic accident as a kid, the tinnitus in his head has led to him requiring to listen to a soundtrack wherever he goes.
As a result, the film plays as both a serious action thriller and something of a jukebox musical, albeit one without singing. Instead, the action, dialogue and more are edited to the rhythm of whatever song is playing. Kevin Spacey, Jon Hamm, Lily James, and Elza Gonzalez co-star.
Premiering at SXSW to rave reviews, the word was so good that Sony moved the film up by nearly two months and is now launching it June 28th ahead of a global rollout throughout July.
