Following Paramount’s shuffling around of its schedule yesterday, Sony Pictures has now shaken up several of its key release dates – most notably for three high-profile sequels.
First up, Genndy Tartakovsky’s animated sequel “Hotel Transylvania 3” is going out two months earlier than planned with a new date of July 13th 2018. Taking over its original September 21st 2018 release will be the “Goosebumps” sequel which has been pushed back a full eight months from a late January release.
It has fared better though than “Bad Boys for Life,” the Joe Carnahan-directed third film in the action franchise. Originally planned for a January 12th 2018 release, the film will now open almost a full year later on November 9th 2018. The Matthew McConaughey-led “White Boy Rick” will take over its old January slot.
A fourth film in the franchise is also still believed to be in the works, but it will no longer target the previously-announced May 24th 2019 release.
