Former “Doctor Who” leading star Matt Smith has joined the cast of the film adaptation of the Seth Grahame-Smith satirical novel “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies”.
After many stops and starts, the long gestating horror-comedy finally goes in front of the cameras next week under the helm of Burr Steers. Smith will play Mr. Collins, a man on the lookout for a wife who proposes to our heroine Liz Bennett (Lily James).
This spin on the Jane Austen classic sees Liz pressured by her family to marry into a wealthy upper-class home, instead she wants to help defend the countryside against a zombie plague.
Sam Riley, Jack Huston, Bella Heathcote and Douglas Booth also star in the film. Smith will next be seen in the upcoming “Terminator: Genisys”.
