Following set video leaks on Friday night, Sony Pictures and Nintendo have now officially released first look photos of Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda in the live-action “The Legend of Zelda” film.
The project began filming in Wellington, New Zealand, earlier this month with the shoot expected to run for six months through to April next year.
The footage showed Australian actress Dichen Lachman (“Severance”) with speculation being that she’s playing Impa. Lachman still has not been confirmed.
The story centers on the young Link and Princess Zelda, who attempt to save the kingdom of Hyrule from the evil Ganon.
Derek Connolly and T. S. Nowlin are penning the script for the film which Wes Ball is directing and which will be released in cinemas on May 7th 2027.
“Zelda” series creator Shigeru Miyamoto is producing the film alongside Avi Arad, Ball and Joe Hartwick Jr.
