In the wake of his new Claire Danes and Zazie Beetz-led noir drama TV series “Full Circle” launching on Max, filmmaker Steven Soderbergh has surprisingly revealed he’s got a new sci-fi comedy series coming.

Titled “Command Z,” the series launches next week and stars Michael Cera, Roy Wood Jr., Chloe Radcliffe and Liev Schreiber in a post-apocalyptic look back at the current year.

Using a ‘wormhole in a dryer’ combined with psychedelics to travel back in time, Michael Cera plays the leader of a group on a series of missions taking them back to the year 2023.

There they must hack into people’s minds to alter their thoughts and undo bad historical events that have happened to these people, such as an Amazon-Walmart merger, and the teaming of the NRA & the police.

In a statement from Soderbergh’s production company, the work is said to be 90 minutes long in total, spread across eight episodes of varying length. Its also been heavily under wraps so no-one is quite sure of what to expect.

“Command Z” is set to premiere July 17th and will be available on Soderbergh’s website.
