Both Ben Affleck and Megan Thee Stallion are said to be circling “Good Time” and “Uncut Gems” directors The Safdie Brothers’ next film, which will also reunite them with their ‘Gems’ star Adam Sandler.
First up, Deadline reports that rapper Megan Thee Stallion is in talks to star in the film which deals with the world of sports memorabilia. Little else is known about the film beyond that the Safdies direct from their own script. The title and story are under wraps.
The rap music icon has won three Grammys, four AMAs, two MTV Video Music Awards, and six BET Awards and made TIME’s 100 Most Influential People list in 2020.
Megan also has several scripted acting credits to her name, including a memorable appearance as herself on Marvel’s “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,” along with episodes of “P-Valley” and “Good Girls,” and has a role in the upcoming Megan Mullally, Nathan Lane and Bowen Yang-led A24 comedy “F—-ing Identical Twins” which hails from “Borat” director Larry Charles.
Meanwhile, Jeff Sneider on The Hot Mic revealed that Ben Affleck is in early talks to star in the film. How extensive his role would be is not clear, but the actor/filmmaker is currently getting rave reviews for his Nike shoe-themed film “Air”, which arrives in cinemas next week.
Netflix is handling the new Safdie Brothers project, which does not have a release date at this time.
