Bebe Neuwirth Returns For “Frasier” Revival

NBC

Bebe Neuwirth will reprise her iconic “Cheers” and “Frasier” role of Dr. Lilith Sternin for a guest appearance on the “Frasier” revival currently in the works at the Paramount+ service.

The revival series will take place in Boston, the original setting for “Cheers,” as Dr. Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) returns to the city after so many years in Seattle.

Neuwirth first took on the role in 1986, her character dating then marrying and having a son named Freddy with Frasier before the two split up and got divorced – she stayed in Boston with the kid, he moved to Seattle.

In the revival, they reunite at a now adult Freddy’s birthday party. Lilith is far from pleased about having to share Freddy (Jack Cutmore-Scott) now that Frasier is back living in Boston. What begins as a fun party with friends and family, turns into an epic Lilith-and-Frasier showdown.

The new series will also star Nicholas Lyndhurst, Toks Olagundoye, Jess Salgueiro, and Anders Keith. Grammer executive produces in addition to starring while Chris Harris and Joe Cristalli will serve as writers and executive produce alongside Tom Russo and Jordan McMahon.

James Burrows directed the first two episodes which were shot in early February.
