Lena Headey (“Game of Thrones”), Yara Shahidi (“Black-ish”), Isabela Merced (“Dora and the Lost City of Gold”), Lana Condor (“To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before”), Millicent Simmonds (“A Quiet Place”) and Iris Apatow (“This Is 40”) will lead the action-thriller “Ballerina Overdrive” for 87North.
The story follows a troupe of ballerinas who find themselves fighting for survival as they attempt to escape from a remote inn after their bus breaks down on the way to a dance competition.
“The Witcher: Blood Origin” series director Vicky Jewson will helm the feature which will shoot in Serbia in the second quarter of 2023. The project is expected to be one of the hottest titles at EFM.
Kate Freund (“Afterlife”) penned the script while “Deadpool 2” helmer David Leitch, Kelly McCormick, and Annie Marter will produce. Stunt designers Heidi Moneymaker and Renae Moneymaker will handle the film’s dance-based action choreography.
87North is currently in production on “The Fall Guy” in Sydney, Australia with Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, Winston Duke, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Hannah Waddingham and Stephanie Hsu starring.
