Actor Barry Keoghan made a quick cameo as The Joker in Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” earlier this year, appearing mostly off screen with just mere hints of his appearance
Shortly after the film’s release, a video clip popped up on YouTube showing off an extended deleted scene in which the actor’s Joker played opposite Robert Pattinson’s Batman in an interrogation cell.
Now, as part of a new profile with GQ, Keoghan revealed that he had originally auditioned to play the film’s main villain The Riddler – a role that ultimately went to Paul Dano. After months of not hearing back he was advised they wanted him for another role altogether.
That led to the Joker scene. Now though, a clip has been found online of the unsolicited audition tape Keoghan sent of himself with his interpretation of The Riddler which is quite different from Dano’s version.
Keoghan will soon be seen in director Martin McDonagh’s “The Banshees of Inisherin”.
