A new listing on HBO has reportedly indicated that recent theatrical horror hit “Barbarian” has set its streaming launch date.
According to When to Stream, the premium cabler has set a Saturday October 29th premiere date for the linear transmission of the film on HBO. They suggest this would mean the film will arrive on HBO Max earlier in the week, more specifically Monday October 24th.
The 24th would be exactly in line with the 45-day mark for most streaming releases, including 20th Century Studios titles such as “Barbarian”. The film is expected to hit Hulu at the same time according to The Wrap.
Meanwhile, Icon vs. Icon reports that the first season of HBO’s “Peacemaker” is coming to Blu-ray with a November 22nd release date set for the physical debut of the John Cena-led series.
The box-set will include an exclusive gag reel, featurettes and character profiles. A second season is on the way with series creator Gunn expected to begin filming after the release of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” opens in May.
