Joe Exotic
Nat Wolff (“The Stand,” “Death Note”) will play Travis Maldonado, one of the husbands of Joe Exotic (John Cameron Mitchell) in the “Joe Exotic” TV series at Peacock.
He joins Kate McKinnon as Carole Baskin and Brian Van Holt as John Reinke in this take on the real life story that became a sensation via the “Tiger King” TV series on Netflix. [Source: Variety]
The Staircase
Parker Posey will star alongside Colin Firth, Toni Collette, Juliette Binoche and Rosemarie DeWitt in HBO Max’s eight-part series “The Staircase”.
Based on the Netflix docuseries of the same name, the story deals with the case of Michael Peterson (Firth) who was accused of murdering his wife, Kathleen (Collette) in 2001. Posey will play Freda Black, an assistant district attorney and prosecutor. [Source: Variety]
The Spook Who Sat By The Door
Lucas Till (“MacGyver”) has booked a co-starring role in Lee Daniels’ FX pilot “The Spook Who Sat by the Door”. Nafessa Williams, Nathan Darrow, Tom Irwin, Y’lan Noel and Christina Jackson have also joined the cast.
Based on the 1969 novel by Sam Greenlee, the story follows Dan Freeman (Noel) – the first Black officer in the CIA – a patriot, a Vietnam veteran and, secretly, a revolutionary. Till will portray CIA agent Graham Renfroe. [Source: TV Line]
Honk for Jesus Save Your Soul
Regina Hall and Sterling K. Brown are set to star in and produce the megachurch culture mockumentary “Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul” for Pinky Promise. Adamma Ebo pens and directs the film which Daniel Kaluuya will produce.
Hall plays Trinity Childs, the first lady of a prominent Southern Baptist megachurch who attempts to help her pastor-husband (Brown) rebuild their congregation and reconcile their faith to make the biggest comeback that commodified religion has ever seen. [Source: Deadline]
Bridgerton
Rupert Evans (“Charmed,” “Hellboy”) has been cast as the Bridgerton siblings’ late father Edmund in the Regency-era Netflix series “Bridgerton”. The second season is currently in production.
Evans’ Edmund is a loving and devoted husband and endlessly patient and kind father who guided his eldest son Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) through life. He died at 38 from an allergic reaction to a bee sting, profoundly impacting Anthony who was 18 at the time. [Source: EW]

Diane Kruger, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Jeffrey Donovan and Sydney Park have joined A.J. Edwards’s romantic drama “First Love” which is currently in production in Los Angeles.
