Robert De Niro is returning home to New York after injuring his leg off-set in Oklahoma where he was filming Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” reports TMZ.
The injury occurred on his own time, not on the set, according to a source and it’s not known how serious it might be. De Niro flew back to New York yesterday and will see a doctor today.
De Niro was already reportedly planning to take a few weeks off the production before the injury says the outlet, and as they’d already shot the scenes they needed to get done with him up to this point, there won’t be any delays in production.
Based on David Grann’s bestselling non-fiction book, the story is set a century ago and follows the newly-formed Bureau of Investigation which tries to solve the serial murder of members of the Osage Nation.
Leonardo DiCaprio, Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, Pat Healy and Lily Gladstone co-star in the Apple Original Films production which is budgeted at close to $200 million. Shooting has been underway in Bartlesville, Pawhuska and Osage County, Oklahoma.
