The soon to launch the ten-episode fourth season of Netflix’s dark medieval fantasy anime series “Castlevania” will be its last. The final run will kick off on the service on May 13th.
Based on the classic Konami video game franchise, the series launched in 2017 as the streaming giant’s first original anime series. It quickly developed a devoted following and was well received by critics.
In spite of the ending, Netflix is reportedly eyeing a new series set in the same universe with an entirely new cast of characters.
Warren Ellis, who served as writer and executive producer on “Castlevania,” has reportedly not been part of the conversations about a potential new show.
