Two very different productions have officially begun filming on opposite sides of the globe.
Chris Hemsworth took to Instagram earlier today to announce that production has officially begun on Marvel Studio’ “Thor: Love and Thunder” in Sydney, Australia.
Hemsworth and Taika Waititi were on hand for an Aboriginal welcoming ceremony, on the hottest day of the Australian Summer so far, ahead of the film’s shoot. Photos are also online of some sets being built for the film which you can see below.
Actors either in or on their way to Australia for filming on the MCU feature include Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Matt Damon, Chris Pratt, Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander and Sean Gunn.
Meanwhile in a whole other and more chilly hemisphere, production has officially kicked off in Calgary, Canada on the reboot of HBO’s 1983 muppet series classic “Fraggle Rock” for the Apple TV+ service.
Karen Prell and Dave Goelz will reprise their roles from the original series and the recent Apple TV+ ‘Rock On’ shorts with the “Community” writing/producing veterans Matt Fusfeld and Alex Cuthbertson acting as showrunners.
Unlike the remotely filmed shorts last year, this is an entire series of full-length episodes properly filmed at the Calgary Film Centre and produced by The Jim Henson Company in association with New Regency.
