Following their team-up on “Vice” and “Talladega Nights,” actress Amy Adams and filmmaker Adam McKay are reuniting for a Netflix limited series about a class action lawsuit against Walmart.
“Kings of America” is based on real events and centers on the stories of three women whose lives were inextricably intertwined with the world’s largest company – a Walmart heiress, a maverick executive, and a longtime saleswoman and preacher.
The latter dared to fight against retail giant Walmart in the biggest class action lawsuit in United States history. Adams will star in the series in one of the lead roles, but which one is not yet determined. She will also executive produce alongside McKay who will direct the first episode.
The series was created and written by journalist and author Jess Kimball Leslie while Diana Son will serve as showrunner, both are also executive producing along with Stacy O’Neil, Betsy Koch and Brunson Green.
