Kojima Has A Solid Snake Casting Idea

Celebrated video game creator Hideo Kojima, coming off the recent PS4 title “Death Stranding” which just hit PC the other week, is also known for being a film fan.

Recently he took to Instagram to post that he thinks that actor Luca Marinelli would make a great Solid Snake in an eventual film adaptation of Kojima’s signature game series “Metal Gear Solid”. That project remains in very early development with Jordan Vogt-Roberts (“Kong: Skull Island”) attached.

Italian actor Marinelli will probably best be known to international audiences for his role in Netflix’s “The Old Guard,” the actor playing one of the four immortal warriors and the one in a centuries long romantic relationship with another (Aladdin’s ‘Hot Jafar’ actor Marwan Kenzari). Kojima says:

“There are many actors that I follow. Luca Marinelli recently caught my eye after watching The Old Guard and Martin Eden. He played an impressive villain in They Call Me Jeeg Robot, but I think that he will break out soon, and his popularity will increase. Also, I think if he donned a bandana, he’d be a spitting image of Solid Snake!”

The post was in response to a question about what creators and actors have caught his attention recently. Actor Oscar Isaac has stated in the past that he would love to play Snake in a film, but the project remains a long way off from any casting at present.
