FOX has set a September 27th date for the Fall premieres of its Sunday animation block including The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, Bless the Harts and Family Guy. They are among the only returning shows in the network’s Fall primetime lineup.
The network is also developing an animated comedy series with Vince Vaughn attached to executive produce and having set a blind script deal. No writer is currently attached and plot details are under wraps. Vaughn also produces Netflix’s “F Is for Family”. [Source: Deadline]
Chicano
ABC is developing “Chicano,” a drama series with both Eva Longoria and Forest Whitaker attached as executive producers. Natalie Chaidez will write the series inspired by the novel of the same name Richard Vasquez. It tells a century long multi-generational story of the Mexican-American family the Sandovals that immigrates to Los Angeles in pursuit of the American Dream. [Source: Variety]
Gomorrah
HBO Max has acquired the U.S. streaming rights to four European shows, the biggest being Italy’s critically-acclaimed crimes series “Gomorrah” with the third and fourth seasons and feature spin-off “The Immortal” available to U.S. audiences for the first time.
Marvel’s 616
Disney+ has released two sneak peek clips from the new original anthology docuseries “Marvel’s 616”. The first clip is from the second episode about the trailblazing women of Marvel Comics and how they tell stories of representation and inclusion.
The second sees comedian Paul Scheer on a journey to discover the ‘forgotten”’characters of Marvel Comics. Each episode is helmed by a unique filmmaker and explores the intersections of storytelling, pop culture, and fandom within the Marvel Universe
