Filming on DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures’ “The Batman: Part II” has been put on hold.
Filmmaker Matt Reeves reportedly has to deal with a personal matter which has led to the production freeze. In a statement, a DC Studios spokesperson says:
“Production on The Batman Part II has been temporarily paused while Matt Reeves focuses on a family matter. Matt has the full support of DC Studios and we look forward to continuing the journey soon.”
Filming on “The Batman Part II” began in June after a very long development process saw its start date pushed multiple times. Reeves and co-writer Mattson Tomlin wrote the script.
For now, the film is sticking with its February 18th 2028 release date. No word on how long the potential delay could be.
The film stars Robert Pattinson, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, Charles Dance, Jayme Lawson, Gil Perez-Abraham, Sebastian Koch, and Brian Tyree Henry. Check out some recent video from the set below.
