It was previously rumored but now its confirmed, “Sin City” and “Alita: Battle Angel” director Robert Rodriguez has helmed an episode of the upcoming second season of the live-action “Star Wars” series “The Mandalorian” on Disney+.
A while back came a report from BlackSeriesRebels, indicating that both Rodriguez and “Logan” helmer James Mangold would join the series. Mangold quickly shut down the story, debunking it right away. Rodriguez, however, remained silent.
This weekend, both HN Entertainment and Slashfilm have independently confirmed Rodriguez did direct at least one episode of the new season.
Rodriguez has been friends with showrunner Jon Favreau for years, so the hire makes sense – especially with Rodriguez able to handle VFX heavy blockbusters.
