Author Matthew Baker’s short story “To Be Read Backwards” is reportedly being developed into a feature directing vehicle for “Fargo” and “Legion” showrunner Noah Hawley at 20th Century Fox.
The story follows a man who begins his life at his death and learns about himself as he, and the world, unravel in reverse, ultimately revealing humanity and mystery. A writer will be set soon while Hawley finishes post-production on his film.
Hawley just wrapped his featured directing debut on Fox Searchlight’s astronaut drama “Pale Blue Dot” and will produce ‘Backwards’ with Leigh Kittay. He’s also slated to produce Hiro Murai’s “Man Alive”.
