Tom Holland will reunite with his “Spider-Man: Homecoming” producer Amy Pascal on “Beneath A Scarlet Sky,” the upcoming film adaptation of the Mark Sullivan novel.
The WW2-set story follows Pino Lella, a normal Italian teenager living an idyllic life in Italy until bombs begin falling on Milan. He then joins an underground railroad helping Jews escape over the Alps.
When he turns 18, he is forced to enlist with the German Army, and is immediately assigned as a personal driver to Adolf Hitler’s left hand, General Hans Leyers. Recruited by the Allies as a spy known as ‘Observer,’ he endures the horrors of WWII and the Nazi occupation by secretly feeding crucial intel to the Allies.
Pascal and Rachel O’Connor will produce. Holland has several more turns in the Spider-Man role on the way, along with being the screen version of Nathan Drake in the upcoming “Uncharted” film adaptation.
