When not providing lubricant for SnyderCut fanboy dreams with his offhand comments, filmmaker Zac Snyder is busy going back to his filmmaking roots with the new zombie heist thriller “Army of the Dead” which he is currently helming for Netflix.
Snyder has posted a new photo today showing off some skeletons on the set of the project and praising Red Digital Cinema worker Jarred Land for building the new 8K digital cameras being used to shoot this action-horror movie.
The story is set in Las Vegas after a zombie outbreak has taken over the United States. A group of mercenaries have decided to storm into town and pull off the greatest heist ever attempted. Snyder came up with the story on his own and hired Shay Hatten to write the script.
He will produce alongside wife Deborah Snyder, Wesley Coller, Ori Marmur, and Andrew Norman. Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Theo Rossi, Ana De La Reguera, Hiroyuki Sanada, Chris D’Elia, Garret Dillahunt, Raul Castillo, Nora Arnezeder and Rich Cetrone star amongst others.
Snyder has previously said he’s been completely let loose to do what he wants with this project, far more than any of his other projects. “Army of the Dead” is expected to hit Netflix sometime next year.
