Timed for Batman Day, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and DC Studios have unveiled the trailer for the second part of their animated adaptation of the “Batman: Knightfall” saga.
‘Knightquest’ adapts the middle part of the famed three-part comic storyline from 1993-1994 and follows on from ‘Knightfall’ which released on digital on August 25th and scored excellent reviews with a 92% (8.1/10) on Rotten Tomatoes.
In the new film, Batman lies broken at the hands of the villainous mastermind Bane. With Bruce Wayne paralysed from the waist down and unable to continue as Batman, a new successor must be chosen to defend Gotham City.
Jean-Paul Valley, the man also known as Azrael, must take up the mantle of the Batman. But will his more violent methods be enough to stop Bane?
The key cast includes Anson Mount as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Michael Mando as Bane, Pablo Schreiber as Jean Paul Valley/Azrael, Jack Griffo as Tim Drake/Robin, Bruce Boxleitner as Commissioner Gordon, Simon Templeman as Alfred Pennyworth, and Toks Olagundoye as Shondra Kinsolving.
There is no date announcement for the second film beyond ‘Coming Soon’, though it is expected to arrive before the end of the year. The third film, ‘KnightsEnd’, is expected to come in early 2027.
