New Photo: Matt Reeves’ “The Batman: Part II”

Warner Bros. Pictures

Today is Batman Day and to mark the occasion, filmmaker Matt Reeves has shared a new photo from the currently in-production “The Batman Part II” ahead of the film’s release in February 2028.

Shared straight from the set, which is currently set up in London, all we can see is Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight in a shadowy setting.

Reeves also answered some questions about filming, confirming the ‘film out process’ from the first movie is being used again here – a process that sees the movie shot digitally and then outputted to film.

Then asked why not just shoot on film instead of going through that process, he answered: “Because the level of precision and control over the image you have shooting digitally is indispensable. You know exactly what you are getting. The film out process and choice of lenses allows you to bring a more organic, analog quality back to what you’ve shot. A beautiful, and carefully developed imperfection.”

The photo comes as plenty of photos and videos from the film’s set have gone online in recent weeks hinting at elements of the film from the public being not happy with Bruce Wayne, the cops not happy with Batman, and placards suggesting the Court of Owls are an element of the story.

Penned by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin, the film stars Robert Pattinson, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, Charles Dance, Jayme Lawson, Gil Perez-Abraham, Sebastian Koch, and Brian Tyree Henry.

“The Batman Part II” is set to be released in cinemas on February 18th 2028.
