The upcoming third season of Marvel Studios’ “Daredevil: Born Again” will be the show’s last, according to a new report at THR.
The forthcoming final run wrapped filming two months ago and is currently in the midst of post-production. One other wrinkle has also come up – Marvel has “quietly parted ways” with showrunner Dario Scardapane, the studio opting not to renew his contract.
In fact, Scardapane is reportedly no longer working on the series so it’s not clear who will see the show through completion. A source adds that post-production is in its “final stages,” so not a huge amount of work remains.
The new season sees multiple familiar faces return, including previous season actors Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin, Wilson Bethel as Dex Poindexter / Bullseye, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn / Muse, Arty Froushan as Buck Cashman, Zabryna Guevara as Sheila Rivera, Johnson as Mahoney, and Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones.
Joining them will be Netflix-era Marvel TV returnees Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Finn Jones as Danny Rand / Iron Fist, and Elodie Yung as Elektra Natchios. While it has had its fans, “Daredevil: Born Again” has notably been lackluster in terms of ratings.
Combined with the ‘un-renewal’ of “Wonder Man” and the upcoming “VisionQuest” being sold as the final instalment in the WandaVision trilogy, Marvel Television is going quiet in the live-action realm after this final run of “Daredevil” airs in Spring 2027.
The trade does say that the company continually has three to five live-action shows in development, and has “just greenlit a spy thriller referred to as Zodiac”.
