The J.J. Abrams-produced upcoming sci-fi thriller “God Particle” is set to be the third film in the connected “Cloverfield” series reports The Wrap.
The site says Abrams’ Bad Robot and Paramount Pictures are quietly developing more movies for the shared universe, with the hope to do one each year.
The film follows on from “10 Cloverfield Lane” which was produced under the name “Valencia” before revealing its new title and ‘Cloverfield’ name. It opened in March to strong reviews.
The story for “God Particle” follows a team of astronauts who make a ‘shocking discovery’ and end up fighting for survival in what is described as an altered reality.
David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ziyi Zhang, Elizabeth Debicki, Daniel Bruhl and Chris O’Dowd star in the film which Julis Onah directs from a script by Oren Uziel.
It is slated to open February 24th with the first footage, which will be the first promotional material of any kind from the film, to be presented this week in New York.
