“Captain Marvel” executive producer Victoria Alonso, out doing promo rounds for the film’s home video release, has confirmed that Marvel is planning 4K disc releases of all the Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
Speaking with Collider, Alonso says: “We are going to remaster all of our films in 4K. We’re in the process of doing that, so it’s all happening.” Sadly there’s no time table yet for the releases.
While the MCU films from 2017 onwards are currently out on 4K, many from before that year still are not including “Thor,” “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Ant-Man,” “Doctor Strange,” “Thor: The Dark World” and the “Iron Man” trilogy with the latter only available as a sub-par German disc set.
Alonso also indicates in the interview that, as far as they’re aware, the launch of Disney+ will not impact the home video release plans of the studio’s various titles.
