A Talent for Murder
Anton Corbijn’s new film “A Talent for Murder” has set an October 23rd release date. Oscar winner Helen Mirren is set to star as famed “The Talented Mr. Ripley” and “Strangers on a Train” author Patricia Highsmith.
The character-driven piece begins when Highsmith’s late life solitude in the Swiss Alps is interrupted by Edward (Alden Ehrenreich), a young literary agent who has been sent by her relentless publishing company to convince her to write one last Tom Ripley novel. Alvin and the Chipmunks
Family entertainment company Big Shot Pictures has taken a 25% stake in the “Alvin and the Chipmunks” franchise in partnership with Bagdasarian Productions.
As a result, new, digital-first, short-form content arrives later this year ahead of a theatrical release planned for 2028 to time with the franchise’s 70th anniversary. [Source; The Wall Street Journal]
The Uprising
Ahead of a trailer release tomorrow, the first poster has been unveiled for Paul Greengrass’ new medieval England war film “The Uprising” starring Andrew Garfield. The film opens in cinemas September 11th.
The story follows a group of commoners who rise up against the tyrannical King Richard II in a fight for survival and equality. Jamie Bell, Stephen Dillane, Tom Hollander, Cosmo Jarvis, Thomasin McKenzie, Jonny Lee Miller, Woody Norman, and Katherine Waterston co-star.

Train to Busan
Yeon Sang-ho’s 2016 global smash hit zombie feature “Train to Busan” is returning to cinemas for its 10th anniversary with tickets on sale now ahead of the August 14th re-release.
A trailer marking the re-release has also been posted by Well Go USA. The film deals with a zombie outbreak in Korea and follows a group of people on a high-speed train when the event happens.
Troy
Arrow Video is set to bring Wolfgang Petersen’s “The Iliad” adaptation “Troy” to 4K UHD with a release on August 18th. To mark the occasion, a trailer for the release has been revealed.
The new edition includes brand new 4K Dolby Vision remasters of both the Director’s Cut and Theatrical Cut of the film from the original 35mm camera negative along with original lossless DTS-HD MA 5.1 surround audio plus stereo audio.
