The recent trailer for “Avengers: Endgame – Encore,” next month’s re-release of the 2019 Marvel Studios title, drew in 77 million views in its first 24 hours.
That’s four times the amount of any previous trailer re-release, including previous record holder “Top Gun” earlier this year with 19 million views.
Hopes of seeing either some of the four minutes of new footage, or tie-in new footage from “Avengers: Doomsday,” likely drew a big chunk of that viewership.
The film was the second highest-grossing film of all time at the domestic box office until “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” pushed it to third the other week.
Joe and Anthony Russo have been touting that “Avengers: Endgame – Encore” is highly recommended as ‘required viewing’ ahead of “Avengers: Doomsday,” though it’s likely the ‘Encore’ version will hit Disney+ before ‘Doomsday’ opens in December.
“Avengers: Endgame – Encore” opens in cinemas on September 25th.
