Arjona Talks Her “Man Of Tomorrow’ Prep

Amazon MGM Studios

“Andor” and “Hit Man” actress Adria Arjona stars in James Gunn’s “Superman” follow-up “Man of Tomorrow” as Maxima… maybe.

While it’s said Arjona is taking on that DC villainess role, speculation has been rife that she’s actually been cast as the DCU’s Wonder Woman.

Speaking with Screen Rant recently, she revealed she couldn’t actually say whom she was playing, with the outlet saying the actress “wasn’t able to clarify her Man of Tomorrow character”.

That has only fanned the flames of speculation, as he actual comments about getting into fighting shape for the film:

“I have muscles that I’ve never had in my life. I’m training two to three hours a day on a crazy diet. Drinking coffee is the only thing that keeps me up. And I’m really excited!

Part of the excitement comes from the fact it marks a ten year reunion with DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran, who cast her in one of her first feature roles in 2016’s “The Belko Experiment”. Gunn wrote and Safran produced that film:

“I’m excited to be reunited with the family that started everything for me, which is Peter Safran and James Gunn. They gave me my first movie. I wouldn’t have done any of the movies that we’ve spoken about today if not for them. I wouldn’t be in Andor if it hadn’t been for Peter Safran and James Gunn, so it feels really f–king cool and really exciting to reunite with that team and to be in that family. And that’s all I’m going to tell you!”

The story will focus on the Man of Steel (David Corenswet) and Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) putting their differences aside and joining forces to defend the planet against Brainiac (Lars Eidinger).

Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), Maria Gabriella de Faria (The Engineer), Aaron Pierre (John Stewart), and Xolo Maridueña (Blue Beetle) are all returning.

Filming wrapped the other day ahead of the film hitting cinemas on July 9th 2027.
