Market research and consulting company Parks Associates have issued a list of the top SVOD services currently on the U.S. market with HBO Now and Starz now entering the top five.
Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu take the top three spots with HBO Now and Starz coming in fourth and fifth. MLB (Baseball), Showtime, CBS All Access, Sling TV and DirectTV Now round out the top ten while both YouTube Premium and the WWE Network have fallen out of the top ten.
HBO Now and Starz both saw considerable subscriber growth via partnership sales on Amazon Channels. Netflix has over 58.5 million subscribers, while HBO Now, Starz, Showtime and CBS All Access subscribers each sit in the single-digit millions range.
How Disney and WarnerMedia’s eventual major SVOD apps will shake-up this line-up is unclear at this time but at least one is expected to crack the Top 5 after they launch.
